Inserting Mother of Pearl or Abalone shell into the surface of an object (Wood in this case) is called an inlay. In old days this was done all by hand, nowadays we use a laser cutter to cut and engrave our wood and hand inlay the pieces.
We use rosewood and cherry wood in most projects for their durability and beautiful vibrant colors.
Wood is glued to a soft rubber cover for better protection and a slip-free grip. Your case will not be just an art statement but it will protect your phone from drops and in normal conditions, it will outlast your phone.

Do not purchase! Beautiful case, but fell apart after 3 months. Plastic is chipping off around camera and separating from wooden back panel. Contacted seller for replacement or refund and was told they don't support a "used" product. Refused to provide any form of help. There's no option to give 0 stars. If the issue is resolved, I'll be happy to update the review.
