We engrave on the wooden piece under the cover or on the box as well as on the compass itself. The box engraving is decorated with abalone or mother of pearl shell inlay.

The compass was engraved exactly as ordered and seller turned it around very quickly. Received it within days of ordering and the recipient loved it. The quality was very nice. The only reason for 4 stars is the face cover was not a push button to open as I had hoped and sticks a bit. Takes 2 hands to get it open; otherwise, very good quality for the price. Thank you!
